“What is the way to Allah.”

Abdur Rahman As-sulami said:

It reached me that one of the companions of Abi Ali al-Jawzaani asked him: “What is the way to Allah.” He said: ” The most correct of paths, the most established and the furthest away from doubts is following the Quran and Sunnah in speech, action, belief and intent. This is because, Allah has said: ” وَإِن تُطِيعُوهُ تَهْتَدُوا ”

‘ If you obey him, you shall be on the right guidance.’ Surah An-Nur 54

He then asked him: “What is the way to following the sunnah?” He replied: “Refraining from innovation and following what was agreed upon by the first generation of scholars of Islam and it’s people. Staying away from the gatherings of kalam and it’s people, sticking to the path of imitation and following. And that is what Muhammad (SAW) was commanded with:

Surah An-Nahl: 123

Then, We have inspired you (O Muhammad SAW  saying): “Follow the religion of Ibrahim (Abraham) Hanifa (Islamic Monotheism – to worship none but Allah) and he was not of the Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, disbelievers, etc.).
