If only our hearts were pure…

‘Uthmaan ibn ‘Affaan [Radiyallahu ‘Anhu] said:

“Were your hearts purified, you would never be satiated by the words of your Lord.”

[Ibn Rajab – Jami’ al-Ulum wal Hikam]

Ibn al-Qayyim narrates that he  heard Shaykh ul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah say:
The extent one should Fear Allah is that it prevents him from disobeying Him. As for what is beyond that, then he is not in need of that.

A little from you…

A little from you suffices me, yet your little is not said to be little.

* I found this small piece of poetry from an intro to the famous book; al-‘Itsaam.  The author left behind very little in regards to literature. Yet, what little he left, left a profound impact.
