قال الطيبي في شرحه على المشكاة (4/157):

“وإنما مدحه في هذا الوقت؛ لأن في نفس السحور بركة، وتخصيصه بالتمر بركة على بركة… ليكون المبدوء به والمنتهى إليه البركة.

A common mistake in Ramadan is to pray taraweeh with imam and pray witr at home

It is proven from the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) that he encouraged praying Taraweeh in congregation and he said: “Whoever stays with the imam until he leaves, (the reward of) qiyaam al-layl will be written for him.”

Narrated and classed as saheeh by al-Tirmidhi (806); also narrated by Abu Dawood (1375), al-Nasaa’i (1605), and Ibn Maajah (1327). Also classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi. 

This reward will not be attained by anyone but the one who prays with the imam until he has finished all the prayers. The one who only prays some of the prayer and then leaves is not entitled to the reward promised in this hadeeth, which is that of spending a night in prayer (qiyaam laylah).

 لو كان الجسم أهم من الروح
If the body was more important than the spirit

ما كانت الروح تصعد للسماء و الجسم يدفن تحت التراب

The spirit would not ascend to the heavens (after death) whilst the body is buried beneath the soil.

كم من مشهور في الأرض مجهول في السماء

How many distinguished on earth are obscure in the heavens!

وكم من مجهول في الأرض معروف في السماء

How many unknown on earth are celebrated in the heavens!

المعيار التقوى وليس الأقوى

The criterion is (being) conscious of the Lord and not (being) the strongest

إن أكرمكم عند الله أتقاكم إنّ الله عليم خبير

The most honourable of you, in the sight of Allāh, is certainly the most conscious of Him from among you, Allāh is certainly All-Knowing, All-Aware.

 
 آل النبي همُ أتباعُ ملتهِ  
من الأعاجم والسودانِ والعربِ 
لو لم يكن آله إلاّ أقاربه

صلى المصلي على الطاغي أبي لهبِ

The family (آل) of the prophet ﷺ  are  followers of his صلى الله عليه و سلم way.

From amongst them are the Arabs and non Arabs and the black. 

If to be from his (آل) was only through being a close relative

Then the sender of prayers and blessings (on the آل) would also include the transgressor Abu Lahab

*in reality the آل are the believing men and women from the family if Rasool صلى الله عليه و سلم.

من بطّأ به عملُه ، لم يسرعْ به نسبُه 

Whosoever is slowed down by his actions will not be hastened forward by his lineage.”

Was just listening to LBC and on it they were discussing how a labour peer who has had a string of child sex abuse cases made against him, will not face any trial due to a bogus claim he has a ‘severe’ form of dementia. 

However, independent eye witnesses have seen him drive a car and do other activities which could not possibly done by some one suffering such symptoms.
