How much we are need of this…

A man said to Abu Hanifa
Fear Allah!
He shuddered, turned pale, and lowered his head and said:
Allah reward you with goodness, how much the people are in need of someone saying this to them constantly.”

The analogy of suffering..

“To draw an analogy: a man’s suffering is similar to the behaviour of gas. If a certain quantity of gas is pumped into an empty chamber, it will fill the chamber completely and evenly, no matter how big the chamber. Thus suffering completely fills the human soul and conscious mind, no matter whether the suffering is great or little. Therefore the “size” of human suffering is absolutely relative.”
*What I understand from this:

The author is opining that man can prevent the inexorable effects of suffering by suffocating it, thus restricting its ability to manoeuvre within ones soul or mind. One can do this by avoiding ruminating over the past or transfixing on possible events that can cause him to panic.

Man’s search for meaning.

Abdullah Ibn Umar’s dua

‎’Abdullaah Ibn ‘Umar رضي الله عنهما used to supplicate:

‎”O Allaah, do not remove eemaan from me just as You gave it to me.”

A glaring problem with modern day approach to education

He made this quote which I found interesting:

“One of my biggest complaints against education is the focus on transferring of information and not building the underlying processing information systems that a young mind needs to preform at a high level”
