Abu Hurairah رحمة الله عليه began to cry as he was on his deathbed:
It was said to him: what makes you cry?
He said: I am not crying over this transit world of yours. Rather I am crying over my long journey and lack of provisions (for the journey). And what awaits me in descending to paradise or fire, and I know not which one of them will take me.
Dahhak bin muzahim would cry when the evening would enter, so it was asked of him; ‘What makes you cry?’ He replied, “I don’t know what actions of mine have been raised today!”
*He feared if his actions would be accepted or rejected, which is in accordance to the ayah:

If only those who are protected from error were allowed to advise against short comings and mistakes, then nobody would be allowed to advise the people after the Rasool
*the point being that no body is free from error after Rasool صلى الله عليه و سلم so don’t be mistaken in not advising others.
