وَذَكَرَ الشَّعْبِيُّ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : ” مَا أَبْرَدَهَا عَلَى الْكَبِدِ ، مَا أَبْرَدَهَا عَلَى الْكَبِدِ ” ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : وَمَا ذَاكَ ؟ قَالَ : ” أَنْ تَقُولَ لِلشَّيْءِ لا تَعْلَمُهُ : اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ

جامع بيان العلم و فضله

It was narrated from ash-Sha’bi that Ali (may God be pleased with him) went out to them saying:

“How soothing it is to the heart.” It was said to him: “What is that?” He said:

“To say, when you do not know something: God knows best.”

‏قال الحسن البصري رحمه الله: (يا ابن آدم أي شيء يعز عليك من دينك إذا هانت عليك صلاتك)رواه البيهقي في الشعب(٢٩٠٧)

Hasan Al-Basri رحمة الله عليه said:

Oh son of Adam what will remain of of value, with regards to your deen, if you neglect your salah.

عن مسروق قال: كفى بالمرء علما أن يخشى الله، و كفى بالمرء جهلا أن يعجب بعلمه

It is sufficient for a person to be knowledgeable if he fears Allah, and for him to ignorant by being amazed at his own knowledge.

Ad-Darimi

وأيـــن قرطبة دار العلـــــــــوم فكـــــم

من عـــــالم قـــد ســـما فيها له شـان

وأيــــــن حمص وماتحــويه من نـــــزه

ونهرهـــا العذب فيــــــــــــّاض ومـــلاّن

قواعــــــد كن أركــــــان البـــــــلاد فما

عسى البقـــاء اذا لـــــم يبق أركــــان

تبكى الحنيفية البيضــــــاء من أســف

كما بكــــى لفــــــــــراق الألف هيمـان

على ديـــــــار من الاســـــــلام خاليــة

قد أقفرت ولهـــــا بالكفر عمــــــــــران

حيث المســـاجد قد صارت كنائــــس

‏قال العلامة الشاطبي -رحمه الله-:

‏” من علامات السعادة على العبد:

‏

‏تيسير الطاعة عليه، وموافقة السنة في أفعاله، وصحبته لأهل الصلاح، وحسن أخلاقه مع الإخوان، وبذل معروفه للخلق، واهتمامه للمسلمين، ومراعاته لأوقاته“.

Ash-Shatibi:

From the signs of happiness upon a slave:

He

-finds obedience easy

-acts in accordance with the Sunna

-accompanies people of Righteousness

-has good character with his brothers

-strives to do good for the creation

-cares about the Muslims

-is careful with his time

إذا كان لك صديق يعينك على الطاعة فشد يديك به

فإن اتخاذ الصديق صعب ومفارقته سهل
