If the body was more important..

If the body had been more important than the soul

The soul would not ascend to the skies and the body buried underground

How many famous people on the earth are unknown in the skies

And how many unknown people on the earth are well known in the skies

The aim is more taqwa not more strength

“Indeed the most beloved in the eyes of Allah is the one with most taqwa. Indeed he is all knowing, ever aware.”

What would Uthman رضي الله عنه choose

قال : لو أني بين الجنة والنار ولا أدري إلى أيتهما يؤمر بي لاخترت أن أكون رمادا قبل أن أعلم إلى أيتهما أصير .

حلية الأولياء

Uthman رضي الله عنه said:

If I was between paradise and the fire and I didn’t know to which it be commanded (I enter), I would choose to be dust before knowing which would be my destination.

Hilyatul awliyah

*And if our actions and behaviour would be observed today, then it would seem as if the judgement had taken place and as if we have one foot already in paradise

Want knowledge of the first and last?

IMG_2945

من روائع السلف 
🔘 ﻗﺎﻝ ﻣﺴﺮﻭﻕ :
« ﻣﻦ ﺳﺮﻩ ﺃﻥ ﻳﻌﻠﻢ ﻋﻠﻢ اﻷﻭﻟﻴﻦ ﻭاﻵﺧﺮﻳﻦ
ﻭﻋﻠﻢ اﻟﺪﻧﻴﺎ ﻭاﻵﺧﺮﺓ
ﻓﻠﻴﻘﺮﺃ ﺳﻮﺭﺓ اﻟﻮاﻗﻌﺔ »
{مصنف إبن أبي شيبة 34873}

One of the Imāms of the first generation of the Tābi‘īn – Masrūq, may Allah have mercy upon him – once said:

“Whoever would like to learn the knowledge of the first and the last, and the knowledge of this world and the Next, then let him recite Sūrat’l-Wāqi‘ah.”

A forced democracy?

IMG_2959

Came across this book. Found one particular quote from the back of the book particularly interesting:

‘The mantra in our Western society is that democracy equals freedom and prosperity. But are we in fact imposing our free-market democracy with the same arrogance that colonial missionaries claimed they were civilising poor natives a century ago? Is perhaps democracy merely a fig-leaf to protect strategic interests and access economic markets? Or is it simply that no one has yet had a better idea?

The right perspective…

White does not always equate beauty, just like black does not necessitate monstrosity.

For the shroud that covers the dead is white and it is a frightening sight, yet the ka’bah is black and is a charming sight.

And man is to be admired for his manners and not his outward appearance.

For If manhood was to be measured by the loudest voice, then dogs would be the masters of man.

***I translated this with the meaning in mind and at times left the exact translation in order to create a more coherent message.
