قال ابن الجوزي رحمة الله عليه

واعلموا أن الشيطان لا يتسلط على ذاكر الموت وإنما إذا غفل القلب عن ذكر الموت دخل العدو من باب الغفلة

في كتابه المواعظ

Know that Shaytan does not gain control over the one who remembers death and only does so over the heart that is heedless regarding death. The enemy (shaytan) enters from the door of heedlessness.
