وقد سئل الإمام أحمد: أيكون الإنسان ذا مال وهو زاهد؟ قال: نعم إن كان لا يفرح بزيادته ولا يحزن بنقصانه
Imam Ahmad was asked:
“Can someone who posses wealth be a zaahid?” Imam Ahmad said: Yes as long the increase of the wealth does not please him or it’s decrease does not sadden him.”
